Description
Sprawling over 300 acres along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, The Calgary Polo Club is one of North America’s largest and finest polo facilities. It has nine full-sized playing fields with plenty of room for expansion, an outdoor arena and school, Ranch House, viewing for thousands of spectators and barns that can accommodate up to 350 horses. It is also one of the oldest clubs in North America with a strong heritage of producing superb polo and some of the country’s best competitors.

“We have a strong membership because of our facilities and our well-balanced program of tournaments and match play,” says Fred P. Mannix, Past Chairman. “We host Canada’s top polo competitions, the Calgary Cup and Canadian Open. We host 10 tournaments each season.”

The Club charges very reasonable membership rates, particularly for new members. To help players enjoy the sport, it offers a Riding & Polo Academy with a Professional Instructor and special activities such as youth polo and beginner leagues. If you don’t play polo, a Social Membership gives you entry to the dinners and Polo for Charity social events throughout the season.

“You can sign your children up for lessons and junior polo camp, or you can take your choice of low, medium and high goal leagues and tournaments,” says Instructor Kyle Fargey. “Or you can sit back, relax and enjoy the tournaments as well as the social season – we provide something for everyone and our approach has proved to be very successful.”
